Music & Worship

“Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything,
in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”     – Ephesians 5:19-20

Here at Bridges Community Church, a dynamic Worship and Music Ministry provides numerous opportunities to serve our Lord! Choir, Orchestra, small vocal and instrumental ensembles, Children’s Music, and Technical Ministries combine to form an active ministry dedicated to proclaiming God’s Word and exalting the name of Christ with excellence in this community and throughout the world.

We are always delighted to welcome individuals of all ages to the teamwork, growth and fellowship of the Worship and Music Ministry. You are invited to participate with us in the greatest privilege of all — leading those who attend our services in worshipping our great and glorious God!

Here are some ways to get involved with our Music and Worship Ministries:

First Service – Our Traditional Service

Membership in the Celebration Choir is open to anyone who desires to use their voice to glorify God by leading the congregation at Bridges Community Church in worship. In addition, the choir sings at special services and musical events throughout the year. The choir rehearses each Wednesday at 7:00pm in the Choir Room (Room 120), located in the Worship Center, upstairs behind the platform. The choir sings a wide variety of music, including classical, gospel, spiritual, and contemporary selections. New members are always welcome. Previous choral experience and sight reading ability, although not required, is very helpful. Persons wishing to join the choir should at minimum be able to sing the melody of a hymn in tune. Please feel free to attend a Wednesday rehearsal if you are interested in joining.

Instrumental praise is an important part of the congregational worship at Bridges Community Church. The orchestra plays in First Service once a month, sharing regularly in leading worship as well as in other special events and services. Rehearsals are at 7:30pm on the Wednesday prior to the Sunday that orchestra is scheduled. Extra rehearsals may be scheduled for special events. Anyone who plays at an intermediate level of proficiency on their instrument is invited to participate. Please contact if you are interested.

Small Ensembles
Several vocal and instrumental ensembles, drawn from the choir and orchestra, are utilized throughout the year to enrich the congregation’s worship experience in First Service.

Second Service – Our Contemporary Service

Both instrumental and vocal musicians make up the team that leads worship in Second Service. If your gifts and talents fall into one or both of those areas, we’d love to have you join us as we lead those who attend the service to connect with God and with the truth of who He is and what it means to walk with Him. Please contact if you are interested.

Technical Ministries

Utilizing well equipped audio, video, recording and lighting facilities, the Technical Ministries team provides the vital “behind-the-scenes” support for regular worship services and church-wide productions. From live in-house operation of equipment to video and audio taping of services and productions to recording of services for national radio broadcast to outreach events beyond the walls of the church, this team has a critical role in making sure that the good news of Jesus Christ is always clearly seen and heard. Training opportunities are available in live audio, multimedia, recording, video and lighting.

Children’s Choir

Worship and the knowledge of music are vital parts of a child’s spiritual growth. A fully graded Children’s Choir program (grades 1-8) meets Sundays evenings throughout the school year with an excellent staff of qualified leaders committed to teaching children spiritual concepts while experiencing and learning music. In addition to singing for two Sunday worship services, the various Children’s Choirs team up each year to present two musicals — one at Christmas and one in the spring.

  • Children’s Choirs run September through May with rehearsals on Sunday evenings.
    • God’s Kids (Grades 1-3) — Directed by Linda Tong
    • Kids of the Kingdom (Grades 3-8) — Directed by Leslie Schneider

For more information about your child’s participation, or the possibility of providing adult leadership, please contact Leslie Schneider (, Director of Children’s Music.
