DivorceCare

Image result for divorce care at churchesBridges Community Church offers a 13 week DivorceCare group designed to help you work through the emotional pain of divorce.  DivorceCare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences.  You are welcome to join our group regardless of where you are in the process of your separation or divorce.

DivorceCare is led by leaders who understand what you are going through and have healed from the impact of divorce and can minister to those who have just completed or still are going through this journey.  Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they’ve ever faced.  It’s a confusing time when you feel isolated and have lots of questions about issues you’ve never faced before.  Find help and healing for the hurt of separation and divorce.  You don’t have to go through it alone.

DivorceCare has two distinct elements:  a seminar with experts and a support group with focus.

A Seminar with Experts
During the first 30 to 40 minutes of the meeting, each DivorceCare group watches a video seminar featuring top experts on divorce and recovery subjects.  These videos are produced in an interesting-to-watch television magazine format featuring expert interviews, real-life case studies and on-location video.

A Support Group with Focus
After viewing a video DivorceCare group participants spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in that week’s video seminar and what is going on in the lives of group members.

When do you meet?

DivorceCare meets weekly on Tuesday nights from 6:30 – 8:00 PM starting February 12 in room 522 of the Family Center on campus.  We will meet on a weekly basis with the exception of some weeks due to school breaks/vacations.  You are welcome to join at any time during the 13 week series.

What do I need to do to attend?

Click HERE to register and start attending.  Upon registration, someone from the DivorceCare team will contact you and provide you with all of the information you need to attend your first session.

The cost is $20/person and includes workbook materials.

DivorceCare 4 Kids (DC4K)

During the same time that DivorceCare meets, we also offer DC4K which provides your children with a safe and neutral place to gain an age-appropriate understanding of separation and divorce.  They will learn how to process and share their feelings.

For 13 weeks your children become involved in a fun, caring group that meets near you.  The weekly session topics help your children learn that God’s love strengthens them and helps them turn their sadness to hope and their anger to joy.

To register your child(ren) in DC4K, email Vivian Yasutake.
