Church Family -
As some of you may have already heard, Paul Standen announced in High School Sunday School yesterday morning that he is stepping down from his position here at the church. He has received an excellent job offer from a local company. Paul remains passionate about our High School students, but in the end he believes the Lord has opened so many doors with this new job opportunity that he and Cathryn are confident that this new position is where He would have Paul to be. We rejoice with Paul in this new endeavor!
Paul’s official start date with the new company is March 28th, making his last week full-time on staff ending March 27th. In order to help make this transition as smooth as possible for both leadership and the students, Paul is going to continue planning and leading Sunday mornings as well as coordinating and leading small groups until an interim or long-term replacement is found. Essentially through the end of this school year, Paul’s hope is that the students don’t see much of a difference in the normal Sunday and small group functions. In addition, Cathryn will thankfully remain with us on staff in her current position, and the Standens will remain a vital part of this church moving into the future.
This will be a transition in progress. To help launch this process, Paul, Ryan Shull (Middle School Director), and Pastor Steve are going to have a brief Parent Meeting this upcoming Sunday (Mar. 20) at 10:15 in the Chapel. We want to provide an open forum where parents and/or students can ask questions. We are also available for ongoing input and questions on an appointment basis as we move through this transition.
Let’s all be praying for the Standens, giving thanks to God for what He has done and will continue to do -
